How to prepare your Fortune Rice

Cooking instructions for all your Fortune Rice varieties.

Summary

Fortune Rice performs best when it is thoroughly rinsed and soaked in cold water for 20-30 minutes to remove excess starch prior to cooking.

Choose any of the following cooking methods and your desired quantity to prepare your rice.

Two Fortune Rice variants:

Fortune Fragrant Jasmine Rice

Garnish colourfully

Combi Steam Oven Method:

2kg Jasmine Rice – 3.75L cold water

Place rice in gastronome tray and cover with cold water.
Steam for 25 minutes.
Run a fork through the rice to make it fluffy.

Rice Cooker Method:

200g Jasmine Rice – 375mL cold water

Place rice in rice cooker and add cold water.
Rice cooker will take approximately 15 minutes to cook.
Run a fork through the rice to make it fluffy.
The settings are automatic based on volume of product and water.

Stove Top Absorption Method:

200g Jasmine Rice – 375mL cold water

Place rice in a saucepan and add cold water. Bring to boil. Stir occasionally.
Reduce heat and simmer covered for 12-14 minutes.
Remove from heat and stand covered for 5-10 minutes and serve.

Stove Top Gentle Boil Method:

200g Jasmine Rice – 6-8 cups cold water

Place rice in a saucepan and add cold water. Bring to boil. Stir occassionally.
Reduce heat and boil gently uncovered for 12-14 minutes.
Remove from heat. Drain well and serve.

Tikka Masala Final Recipe

Combi Steam Oven Method:
